In the past few weeks I have finished some books that tell stories about men or women (or both). Fall is the perfect time to go out and read in the sun oder stay in bed on a rainy day accompanied by a good book. Here’s what I have been reading currently:
Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
This was probably the longest time it took me to finish a book. I started to read the biography in spring and only finished it in time for the movie (that I haven’t seen yet). I found the very early days and the last years (from the invention of the iPod on) most interesting to read, but the whole book was very confusing to me with all the people and names that I kept messing up. Glad I read it though.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
A friend recommended the book to me and as I already had it on my Amazon wish list I decided it was time to give it a try. The story is beautifully written, unique and pretty sad too. The characters stayed with me for weeks after I finished the book. Perfect for fall with tea and cookies, definitely a recommendation!
The Other Woman’s Shoes by Adele Parks
A light and quick read that I would have loved some years ago but to me lacks depth now. It’s a story about two sisters that struggle with their current relationships but find love again in the end.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
I didn’t know what to expect from this one and nearly gave up after the introduction (don’t read that part unless you are very interested in the story behind the story and some analysis of the text). But I really enjoyed Fitzgerald’s style of writing and the story too. Too bad it’s so short!
